Sony Developing a Pro Version of the PlayStation 5 with Improved Graphics Processor

“Sony” is developing an improved “Pro” version of the “PlayStation 5” video game console, which includes improving the graphics processor in the device more compared to the main processor.

Sony will use the Ryzen Zen 2 processor from AMD in the upcoming “PlayStation 5 Pro”, which is the same processor found in the current “PlayStation 5”, pointing out that instead of moving to a newer processor, the processor speed will increase to 4 GHz instead of 3.5 GHz in the current available version of the processor to reach the appropriate frame rate for each game.

The “PlayStation 5 Pro” device may come with an increase in the number of ROU output units, as the basic version of “PlayStation 5” contains 64 output units, and it may increase to 96 or 128 units in the Pro version, which ultimately means better performance for the graphics processor. .

The expected release includes other improvements in storage disks and random memory to improve performance, amid reports that expect the device to be released at the end of the next 2024, while the PlayStation 6 may be released in 2028.

Sony had previously revealed the “PlayStation Portal”, a portable device designed in the form of a Dual Sense controller that allows playing games installed on the PlayStation 5 wirelessly.
