“We want PlayStation Plus to be great. Like almost everything in this world, we had to look at our prices and adapt them to market conditions.” said Lempel, recalling that for 85% of the world, they haven’t touched the price of PS Plus in many years.
When asked about Xbox Game Pass and Microsoft’s strategy of adding first-party titles on release day, which Sony doesn’t, he said the two services are different.

“It depends on what you get on the service in terms of the type of games and the quality of them. I can’t comment on what the competition is doing. But we feel that we offer a great catalog of games as well as other features and services. It’s a very different offering, but one that has resonated with customers. Since the tiers were introduced, we’ve seen a third of service users opt for the two higher tiers, which was more than we expected.”
