There are already quite a few PS4 games that also let you download the PS5 version for free. A few of these games were also offered through PlayStation Plus, but the upgrade was disabled. This is again the case this month.
One of the games offered this month with a PlayStation Plus subscription is Mortal Shell for the PS4. If you buy the game, you can upgrade to the version for the PlayStation 5 without having to pay extra. However, the PS Plus version does not offer this option.
Previous games that went through the same thing were Greedfall and Final Fantasy VII Remake. That’s strange, because it’s a free upgrade. Why Sony chooses to disable the upgrade for PS Plus titles is unknown.
