Apart from efforts to create more live-service games which have yet to show results, it seems clear that Sony also wants to bring their giant game franchise to other media, especially films. Some have already been launched in wide screen or television format with relatively positive reception, while quite a few are currently being developed and without much information being shared. Being one of the newest highlights in Sony’s video for the ongoing CES 2024 event, there is something interesting about the video which is around 3 minutes long.
The focus of this video itself is focused on discussing the technology called Torchlight that they are trying to push, which they explain by showing how it works in several film, live-action or animation projects that are currently being worked on.
The latest video released by Sony for CES 2024 shows something new regarding Patapon, allegedly confirming the animated film.
You can see a glimpse of behind-the-scenes footage for the film Gravity Rush which has been previously confirmed. The most unique thing is the last part of the video where you can see another form of their iconic game – Patapon in a new form with the words “Gaming / Anime”. This of course has sparked speculation that Sony is actually working on an animated film Patapon or perhaps, a new game series with a different visual style.
