Sony presents new software updates for the FX6 full-frame camera and for the flagship VENICE 2.
FX6 Version 4.0 enhances the camera’s cinematic capabilities through new features, such as a trigger function for anamorphic lenses and autofocus in S&Q mode. It also supports Cine El Quick, which provides the same production workflow as Cinema Live cameras. VENICE 2 Version 2.1 improves the zoom-to-fit function in the 3:2 aspect ratio. The current feature crops the image, creating a narrower angle than expected. The update will crop the image in the 16:9 format, starting from the full 3:2 format. In addition, there is a zoom that also fits the 2:39:1 format for the 3:2 mode. VENICE 2 Version 3.0 will arrive in early 2024 and features a new frameline generator and improved anamorphic high frame rate modes. Users can download the updates directly to their camera via a PC or Mac.
