Sony officially announces the console PlayStation 5 (PS5) a new model with a slimmer appearance will launch in November 2023. Check out the differences and prices.
This PS5 slim comes smaller, but with larger storage, namely 1TB. This new model has the same capabilities on the inside, but has a smaller form factor with a disc drive that can be disassembled.
“We are about to launch a new PS5 model. To meet the evolving needs of players, our engineering and design teams collaborated on a new form factor that provides greater choice and flexibility,” said Sid Shuman, Senior Director, SIE Content Communications PlayStation in official blog PlayStation, Tuesday (10/10).
“The same technology features that make the PS5 the best for gaming are packed into a smaller form factor, along with a pluggable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive and 1TB SSD for more internal storage,” he continued.
Sid said this “slim” PS5 has a volume 30 percent smaller than a normal PS5 and weighs 18-24 percent lighter than the previous model.
There are four separate cover panels, with the top looking glossy, while the bottom remains matte. If you buy the PS5 Digital Edition, buyers can add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive to the PS5 later, as it will also be sold separately.
“The new PS5 model will be available starting this November in the United States at several local retailers and direct.playstation.com where available. This model will continue to be launched globally in the following months,” said Sid.
“Once the inventory of the current PS5 model is sold out, the new PS5 will be the only model available,” he continued.

Europe
PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – 549,99 euro (sekitar Rp9,1 juta)
PS5 Digital Edition – 449.99 euros (around IDR 7.5 million)
