Sony Announces Launch of PlayStation Portal: Stream PS5 Games on the Go

Sony has announced the launch of a new portable PlayStation in late 2023. PlayStation Portalas it will be called, will allow users to stream PS5 games over Wi-Fi and comes equipped with an LCD screen with a resolution of 1080p at 60 fps, writes the website specialized in technology The Verge.

The new PlayStation Portal is expected to retail for $199.99 but will not work with the announced cloud streaming system for PS5 games. Basically, Sony’s new portable console will allow you to play games installed on the PS5, requiring an Internet connection of at least 5Mbps.

The new PlayStation Portal integrates side sticks very similar to the Dual Sense controller, making the gameplay experience similar to the console. Another function of the portable console will be to play media files.

Formerly known as Project Q, the new PlayStation Portal was announced in May, and is expected to launch in November. According to The Verge, Sony will not yet be in a position to announce the exact release date, but the price should be the previously mentioned $199.

In Portugal, PlayStation Portal should be sold for €220.
