Sony and Tencent on Wednesday obtained 30% of FromSoftware, the highly regarded Japanese video sport studio behind the Elden Ring and Dark Souls collection.

KADOKAWA Corporation, the Tokyo-centered media corporation that owns FromSoftware, announced in a push launch that Sony and Tencent have obtained substantial stakes in FromSoftware. Sony Interactive Amusement (the Sony subsidiary driving the PlayStation manufacturer) owns a 14.09% stake in FromSoftware. Sixjoy Hong Kong Confined (a subsidiary of Tencent) owns 16.25%, creating the joint possession price of 30.34%. KADOKAWA even now retains a bulk stake of 69.66%.
