Sony and Oppo develop camera sensors for Find X3

Jakarta

Oppo release Reno5 Pro + 5G is released with a new camera sensor from Sony called IMX766. But both of them still have new sensors that will be released with the series Find X3.

According to leaks circulating, Sony and Oppo are working together to make a sensor called IMX789, which will be used in the flagship series Find X3 before finally being used on other manufacturers’ phones.

Sony and Oppo have previously worked together to create custom camera sensors for cellphones. For example the IMX689 used in the Find X2 Pro, whose sensor size is 1 / 1.43 inch or 11.2mm diagonal, very large for a cellphone.

The sensor has a resolution of 48 megapixels with a Quad Bayer filter, which means that it can produce 12 megapixel photos with a pidel size of 2.24 microns, as quoted by detikINET from GSM Arena, Monday (28/12/2020).

There’s also a dual native ISO system that will have different effects in different lighting scenarios, and the sensor is then paired with a 25mm equivalent lens with an f / 1.7 diaphragm.

In its time, and even today, the specifications of the IMX689 camera sensor are still impressive. While the IMX789 has not yet been known about the specifications, however, it should be more impressive than its predecessor.

It is likely that the increase in the capabilities of the sensor will be in its data processing capabilities, or it could be a higher pixel count. It’s also possible that the sensor will have a resolution of 108 megapixels.

Previously reported, leaked specifications Find X3 Pro circulating from tipter Evan Blass aka @evleaks. He described the Find X3 Pro as a phone with curved surfaces on the front and back, similar to its predecessor.

Blass claims the Find X3 Pro will be 20 grams lighter and a body 0.6mm thinner than the previous model. The back will be covered with ceramic or glass, and the color options will be black and blue at the start, with white coming after.

Find X3 Pro claimed to carry a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1440 x 3216 and can display 1.07 billion colors. This phone is supported by an adaptive dynamic frame rate from 10 Hz to 120 Hz
