Afeela is the new electric car concept from Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between the two Japanese companies.
With software expertise from Sony and automotive expertise from Honda, this could be an exciting car when it hits the roads in 2026.
Afeela is packed with sensors and cameras (45 in total) and a powerful computing unit with 800 TOPS of computing power (Tera Operations per Second).
The car uses Qualcomm’s next-generation software, which gives it advanced self-driving capabilities. It has one inside huge screen which extends beyond the entire dashboard, with a “yoke” to make the screen more visible.

Sony and Honda are collaborating with Epic Games (the game company behind Fortnite) to use their Unreal Engine for the graphical user interface.
Not only that – there’s also talk of playing Playstation games inside the car – Sony showed the PS5 game Horizon Forbidden West on the big screen.
The focus doesn’t seem to be on handling and performance, but rather on providing the most comfortable and relaxing ride possible for the passengers.
For a prototype, Afeela looks surprisingly ready. So Sony and Honda clearly take this model seriously, which can be ordered in 2025, with delivery from 2026.
