Sony acquires Valkyrie Entertainment

Sony is definitely serious about acquisitions, we can say that with absolute certainty after this year. The Japanese company bought in bulk, and we saw the long-awaited acquisition of BluePoint Games, as well as the authors of Returnal (the Finnish Housemarque studio) and several supporting studios. One of these is the latest acquisition announced by PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst on Twitter.

Valkyrie Entertainment is a new addition to PS Studios. Founded in 2002 in Seattle, USA, the company focuses on helping other teams, their only game being the multiplayer strategy “GUNS UP!”. But with the support of other studies, it is already more interesting to learn, Valkyrie developers have participated in games like League of Legends, Valorant, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport 7 and God of War (2018).

It is by the last mentioned title that it boasts by far the most. Valkyrie Entertainment created several worlds, including the environment of the main “hub” and the end of the game. Studio Santa Monica was apparently very happy with their work because developers from Valkyrie are also involved in the sequel with the subtitle Ragnarok.
