“Sonos Reintroduces Flex Speaker Subscription in the Netherlands with New Products and Prices”

Sonos has reintroduced Flex speaker subscription, allowing customers to use Sonos speakers again for a fixed monthly price. The cheapest subscription has become five euros more expensive per month and additional products have been added to the subscription.

Just like the pilot that Sonos started in the fall of 2019, Flex is a service which is currently only available in the Netherlands. The service previously consisted of three subscriptions, one of which remains. This is now called the 2 room Essential subscription and costs five euros more per month than before. The subscription also includes new products such as the Era 100 speakers, which the company announced in March.

Flex can be canceled monthly after three months, after four months customers can adjust the subscription once a year to add other speakers, for example. In addition, the service includes the Sonos Radio HD subscription with ad-free music and lossless audio. Subscribers will receive a new speaker if it breaks down accidentally.

Users can get refurbished products, which Sonos says they test extensively. Sonos says it wants to bring the subscription to more markets, but does not give details about this. The company emphasizes that it remains the owner of the speakers; it is therefore not an installment purchase.
