Sonos today officially introduced the second generation of the Move wireless speaker. After the Era 100 and Era 300 models, this is another novelty in the offer of the American manufacturer. The main advantages include extended battery life or a new color variant. The Czech price is set at 12,490 crowns and sales will start on September 20.
The Sonos Move 2 can play for up to 24 hours, which is a significant increase from the original 10 hours. The battery is replaceable, so the service life of the entire device will be significantly increased. Charging takes place wirelessly using the included docking station or via USB-C. Thanks to this connector, it is also possible to recharge phones or other devices, and the Move 2 can therefore serve as a power bank.

In terms of sound, we can look forward to a pair of tweeters that will finally bring real stereo. The woofer for bass frequencies still remains in the equipment. Each driver has its own class D amplifier. Thanks to the Trueplay function, the speaker continuously senses the surrounding environment and adjusts the sound according to where it is.
In terms of connectivity, it is possible to use Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connections, and of course pairing with another Move 2 speaker or the entire Sonos ecosystem is offered. There is also AirPlay 2.

New color and emphasis on ecology
If you want to visually coordinate the Move 2 with the rest of the Sonos family, you will probably choose a white or black color option. For the more daring, a more interesting olive shade is also available. The dimensions of the speaker are 241 x 160 x 127 mm and the weight is 3 kg including the battery. The manufacturer states IP56 protection, so splashing with water shouldn’t be a problem either.
Recycled plastics were used in the production and the packaging also uses renewable materials and does not contain any plastics. At the same time, it should be fully recyclable, so Sonos thinks about ecology. In terms of control, we can look forward to a similar interface to the Era speakers. Voice control via Sonos Voice Control or Amazon Alexa is also included.
