Margriet van der Linden has won the Sonja Barend Award for the best television interview. She received the award for her interview in Zomergasten with human rights lawyer Liesbeth Zegveld. The award was presented tonight in the talk show Bar Laat, with Sonja Barend herself.
“Everything you want to see is in an interview,” the jury report said. “This conversation is a force field until the end. The big and the small, the personal and the abstract. With small gestures and the right questions, Van der Linden is at the service of her guest throughout the evening.”
The other nominees were Kefah Allush, Özcan Akyol, Hanneke Groenteman, Renze Klamer, Özcan Akyol, Twan Huys, Cornald Maas, Paul de Leeuw and Tim Hofman.
Face mask contract
The Sonja Barend Award was first awarded sixteen years ago. Last year Eva Jinek won the award for the second time. She won with her interview with Camille van Gestel, one of Sywert van Lienden’s partners in the controversial face mask deal.
In 2022 the award went to Marielle Tweebeeke for her interview with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
