This week, Sega’s mascot Sonic the Hedgehog celebrates 30 years. At the same time as the celebration occurs, the acclaimed retro is Sonic Mania free to download at the Epic Games Store. All that is needed is that you have a free account on the service. The offer expires on 1 July.
“Sonic Mania is the definitive proof that not all game series need to be in three dimensions to develop,” wrote M3’s reviewer about the game when it was released in 2017.
Those who want to celebrate the hedgehog further can also enjoy the official 30-year concert where music from the game series is interpreted by a symphony orchestra, Tomoya Ohtani Band and Crush 40.
