Sonic Generations is a setting where past and present Sonics are gathered in one place due to a distortion of space and time caused by his nemesis Doctor Eggman as a Time Eater. Players must use the two Sonics to overcome 2D and 3D stages and stop Dr. Eggman. In the remake version, the graphics are improved, and the stages and action scenes become more colorful.

Next, Shadow Generations features Shadow, a popular character from the Sonic series. Sharing a story with Sonic Generations, you face off against your nemesis, Black Doom, who has been resurrected as a Time Eater. The system is similar to Sonic Frontier, released in 2022, where you rush quickly through a 3D stage, eliminating enemies and fighting bosses.
