Son of Former Egyptian President Mubarak Comments on Soldiers in Sudan Controversy

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Alaa, the son of former Egyptian President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, commented on the issue of Egyptian soldiers in Sudan and what is being raised about that by some without knowing the real situation.

This came in Alaa’s tweet on his Twitter page, where he said: “A lot of talk about the situation of our soldiers in Sudan, and some workers issue fatwas without knowledge of the reality of the situation there. Sick souls confuse their opposition to the regime with gloating in their country’s army! May God protect Egypt.

On Thursday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the success of efforts to secure the safety of the rest of the Egyptian soldiers in Sudan, in a statement it published on its official page on the social networking site, Facebook.

In its statement, the ministry said: “The Arab Republic of Egypt announced the success of its efforts, in coordination and cooperation with the sister country of the United Arab Emirates, to secure the safety of the rest of the Egyptian soldiers present in the Republic of Sudan with the Rapid Support Forces, and to hand them over to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Khartoum. The two brotherly countries expressed their appreciation The International Red Cross for its efforts in supporting the process of securing the safety of Egyptian soldiers.

And she continued: “The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates stated that this step comes within the framework of the two countries’ position in support of calm through continuous communication with the Sudanese parties to ensure restraint, stop escalation, and return to the political track.”
