MEXICO CITY, October 20 (EL UNIVERSAL).- Joaquín Guzmán López, son of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, is related to the kidnapping of Ismael “Mayo” Zambada, leader of the Sinaloa cartel, also to the murder of Héctor Melesio, former rector of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) and forced disappearance of several people, reported the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
He highlighted that there are criminal and administrative responsibilities of police, public ministries, experts and various personnel of the Sinaloa Prosecutor’s Office in the death of Melesio Cuén.
The FGR reported that at the Huertos del Pedregal ranch, in Culiacán, they found blood prints that correspond to the former rector of the UAS.
“Which confirms the information previously obtained, that said person was at the place of the kidnapping (of ‘Mayo’ Zambada) and that his blood prints correspond to the time in which the Public Ministry of the Federation has established the moment of his murder.”
“Which occurred many hours before the video of a gas station broadcast locally, which has already been disqualified by the FGR itself,” the agency detailed.
Murder of Cuén and arrest of “El Mayo”
Melesio Cuén was killed on July 25 and Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada was detained in the United States along with Joaquín Guzmán López in El Paso, Texas.
The agency indicated that in the pan of the vehicle that was used in the assembly of the gas station, human blood was found that corresponds to Rodolfo Chaidez Mendoza currently missing and who was referred to as a member of Zambada’s security team.
“Also, a clear and precise video was obtained of what was confessed by the driver of Dr. Héctor ‘N’, who denies what he himself had previously declared before local authorities, regarding various moments of the disappearance and death of the aforementioned doctor,” the FGR said.
He highlighted that all of the above ratifies the ministerial and police investigations that determined the alleged criminal and administrative responsibilities of the police, public ministries, experts and various personnel of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sinaloa, who have already been exhaustively investigated regarding their participation in the case of the death of Héctor Melesio Cuén.
“Given that there is a situation of rejection by a Federal Judge of Culiacán, to know and determine the arrest of those responsible, the Public Ministry of the Federation will present in the coming days, before an alternative Judge, all the evidence and proceedings that are appropriate,” the FGR emphasized.
