FIFA held the’The Best FIFA Football Awards 2020′ in Zurich, Switzerland on the afternoon of the 17th (local time), and Son Heung-min scored a ’70m dribble goal against Burnley in the 16th round of the English Premier League (EPL) against Burnley last December. ‘Was selected as the Puskas Award.
Last season, Son Heung-min scored with a right-footed shot while dribbled 70m alone against Burnley, outrunning six opponents. Son Heung-min scored a total of 24 points in this vote, which reflects the soccer expert vote and the fan vote in a 5 to 5 ratio. Competition candidates Giorian de Arraceta (Flamengu) and Luis Suarez (Atletico Madrid) scored 22 points and 20 points, respectively.
In a video interview conducted during the awards ceremony, Son Heung-min said, “I didn’t see my colleagues around at the time, so I dribbled directly 70m, and after I succeeded in scoring, I didn’t know it would be such a great goal.”
Head coach Mourinho Tottenham, who is considered one of the world’s best masters, said, “I am watching the awards ceremony while returning home.” “Sony (Son Heung-min’s nickname) should receive the Puskas Award for the best goal.”
Son Heung-min’s Puskas Award is the second time in Asia. In 2016, Malaysian native Mohamed Paiz Subri won the Puskas Award for a fantastic free kick goal.
Meanwhile, FIFA’s Player of the Year was selected by Lewandowski, who led Bayern Munich’s three crowns last season.
