Son Heung-min again being the target of racial abuse in Premier League. The South Korean player experienced it in the match against Crystal Palace.

Son experienced it when Tottenham Hotspur host Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, Saturday (6/5/2023). The 30-year-old player was teased with racist gestures when he was substituted in the last minute.

While walking through the corner of the pitch, which happened to be in the Palace support area, Son Heung-min was teased with the ‘slanted eyes’ gesture. Son looks just staring at him, while walking.

The video of the racial abuse went viral on social media. Tottenham immediately raised their voices to criticize and defend Son Heung-min.

“We are aware of allegations of racial abuse against Heung-Min Son during yesterday’s match. Discrimination in any form is abhorrent and has no place in society, our game and in our Club,” read a statement from Tottenham, who beat Palace 1-0.

“We are working closely with the Met Police and Crystal Palace to investigate and identify the individuals involved.”

“We will do everything in our power to ensure that, if found guilty, the individual will receive the most severe action possible, as was the case earlier this season when Son suffered similar racial abuse at Chelsea,” explained The Lilywhites.

Previously, Son Heung-min also experienced it against Chelsea. The Blues supporters also made the same racially abusive gesture towards the Asian player.
