London –
Son Heung-min received racial attacks on social media after the defeat Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester United. The Lilywhites growled at the action.
Tottenham surrendered 1-3 when entertaining MU at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday (11/4/2021), in the 30th week Premier League. The home team lost after being superior first.
Tottenham led 1-0 until the first half ended thanks to Son’s goal in the 40th minute. MU turned things around in the second half and scored three goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood.
This match was also marked by the inclusion of Cavani’s goal in the 33rd minute. The MU striker’s goal was canceled because Scott McTominay was judged to have violated Son Heung-min first.
The spotlight was busy on Son because the South Korean player was considered to have overreacted. He lay on the pitch for a long time, clutching his face, although the contact made by McTominay was not too severe.
As a result, Son became a target for MU fans on social media. The 28-year-old star was considered cheating and deliberately acted in pain on the field so that Cavani’s goal was disallowed.

Racial assault on Son Hueng-min received a strong response from Tottenham. The Lilywhites condemned this action and promised to investigate this case with the authorities of the Premier League.
“Another match and the more disgusting racial abuse suffered by one of our players. This has once again been reported to the platform and now we will undertake a full review with the Premier League to determine the most effective course of action going forward. We support you, Sonny,” he wrote. Tottenham Hotspur on the club’s Twitter account, Monday (12/4).
