Son (46) gets nine years in prison and TBS for dead mother in Heerde Inland

The 66-year-old victim lived with her son in the house where she was found. The woman was wrapped in cloths under the radiator in the living room.

The suspect has denied any involvement. He has admitted to arguing with his mother. Neighbors have stated that they heard the arguing and banging and dragging. According to the suspect, he took an oxazepam (sedative) after the fight and then went to bed. He wouldn’t have seen the body in the living room. The court does not believe his statements and states that there is no evidence to support the claim that anyone other than the son was responsible for the woman’s death.

According to the court, nothing has been found of a preconceived plan and so there was no question of murder. The court declared manslaughter proven.

The man suffers from psychosis, experts have determined. That is why, in addition to the prison sentence, he was imposed a TBS measure with forced treatment. The Public Prosecution Service had demanded ten years in prison and TBS.
