A new vaccination center for needy New Yorkers in Brooklyn went online.
The center was established by the organization SOMOS Community Careat George Windgate School in the Crown Heights section.
The organization says it has more than 2,500 doctors available to distribute the vaccine to eligible New Yorkers.
They will primarily focus on ensuring that essential low-income workers, high-risk individuals and older adults get immunization.
According to them, two thirds of low-income communities are skeptical about receiving the vaccine, which is why they will have campaigns on social networks and traditional media to inform and help the community.
According to Dr. Ramón Tallaj, from the SOMOS organization: “We want to thank the Mayor for giving us the opportunity to save our people, to serve our people in these neighborhoods. It is very important because that virus of loneliness has already found who is going to destroy it, the vaccine of hope; we are giving here in this center, today “.
SOMOS ensures that they will reach every school or housing complex that asks for it as long as they have enough doses of the vaccine.
They also claim that they are administering about 170 doses daily but the new center in Brooklyn has the capacity to administer 5,000 daily doses.
