This year season of “Sommerhytta” is well underway. Four pairs of participants fight to build the nicest cabin, and then keep it. The viewer favorite has undoubtedly struck a chord with the TV audience, and the cabin construction creates strong engagement with the viewers.
This year, the boyfriend and girlfriend Anna Rosenlund Skretteberg (23) and Jone Engemoen Hansen (27) have received special attention. On social media, several TV viewers have reacted to how Skretteberg talks to his cohabitant in the series. Some have thought that she is strict and rude, and that she rules with the 27-year-old.

– It’s really a bit to laugh at because we know it’s not the way it is. That I’m in charge of Jone and that he’s being harassed. In a way, it is a bit wrongly presented by the individuals who criticize, says Skretteberg Dagbladet.
– Thought I would not make it
The boyfriend and girlfriend have little experience with renovations, even though Hansen works at Maxbo. He believes the lack of experience has contributed to all the negative publicity.
– I also feel that it is part of the cliff and our history. I do not have much practical experience, and then I lean very much on Anna’s choices, Hansen says.

– Not degrading
Skretteberg has a handy father who usually helps her with practical things and chores. The cohabiting couple’s challenge in the series will thus be to refurbish their own machine, without dad’s help.
– Our story is that Anna has often asked her father-in-law, and that is because I have often been very dismissive and a little unsure about doing things. Because I have almost never done anything like this, says Hansen.
He continues:
– I have come across it on the building product, but I have never done anything myself. That’s why I feel that the fall height has been so great, so I have been a little cowardly.
Skretteberg says that the editing of some of the episodes makes it look like she is sitting and talking about her father all the time. In addition, it is repeated that the 23-year-old says that she “thinks it is important for Jone to show me that he is actually good at something”.
The “summer cabin” winner reveals a new job
– There is humor in much of what I say and of course not something I mean degrading. But people take things badly and think that I say bad things about Jone, she says to Dagbladet.

Hansen thinks many people forget that the participants are in a bubble during the “Sommerhytta” recording, and that all that is on their minds is construction and renovation.
– When Anna talks about “suitable for something”, then of course it is in construction. I think people think “enough for something in their whole life”, he says and continues:
– It’s not like Anna comes down on me every day and says: “No, you can not play football, you can not work, you can not count, you can not dress.” It’s not like that.

“Set Jone free”
At Jodel, even the hashtag #FreeJone has received attention. The boyfriend and girlfriend have themselves realized that someone thinks that Jone should be “set free”. At first they thought it was all just fun.
– But it limited how much fun it is if it goes on the person Anna or the person Jone. Of course, I see for myself that I have gone a little low and am a little humble in the beginning, and let Anna take control. She is more creative and good at planning than me, says Jone Hansen, and adds:
– I tend to just rush into something, without thinking through it. Anna sits down and makes a plan, and then she has become a kind of project manager.
This happens with the cabins
Skretteberg says that she does not force her boyfriend to do anything, and that she lets him take breaks after long periods of work. This does not come out as well on TV, she thinks.
– Has the criticism been a strain?
– I have felt a little extra about it the last few days, since it has become so much of it. When there are a lot of negative comments, it’s almost like you start to believe it yourself, even though you know it’s not true. You just have to try to give the bluff, says Skretteberg.

Test for the relationship
Despite the negative reactions, the cohabiting couple has mostly only experienced a good response after the TV participation, both from friends, family and viewers.
The pleasant feedback outweighs all the negativity, but still Skretteberg can understand that someone reacts.
– I understand that people can misunderstand, because I can be bad at finding the right words when I talk and explain. So that what I say can be perceived as degrading to Jone without me meaning to be, says the 23-year-old.
Canceled the job – rents out the winning cabin
They both believe that the relationship has become stronger since they participated in the TV 2 program.
– We have fun and the relationship has become stronger after “Sommerhytta”. Every relationship needs ten weeks of renovation, says Skretteberg.
– It’s a test, Hansen adds.
