The construction process in this year’s season has been filled with challenges, and participant Håvard Skille Midtgård (23) has been at the center of a number of unfortunate incidents and has become known as a real accident bird and set a new record for the number of injuries and accidents.
“It’s always nice to break records, but it’s probably not this “idiot record” that you should brag about the most. I’ve always been a bit foolhardy, but in recent years up until the “Sommerhytta” there have been few injuries and accidents. It was worse when I was smaller, says Håvard.

Håvard has experienced a number of unfortunate incidents, including cutting his finger with a circular saw, falling from rolling scaffolding and ladders. These incidents have led to him setting a new record for the number of injuries and accidents in the programme.
He takes it all with a smile and looks back on the “Sommerhytta” project as a fun and educational experience.

The production at TV2 has learned from these incidents and is working to improve safety in future seasons.

“We don’t have a complete overview of all small incidents throughout the seasons, but it is true that Håvard was the one who was the “unlucky bird” in season seven. Production keeps a report when major incidents occur, and draws up HSE plans weekly. Both the scaffolding and ladder incidents are experiences that have been taken into account in the further HSE work to avoid similar incidents in the future,” says press manager Jan-Petter Dahl in TV2.

We wish Håvard and the rest of the participants the best of luck in their cabin-building adventure!
