People who still use BlackBerry mobile phones with the BlackBerry OS operating system should be sharpened. The company has announced that it will end support on these phones from January 4 this year. It will no longer be possible to call or send SMS with them.
If you have a BlackBerry phone or tablet that is running BlackBerry OS (BlackBerry 7.1, BlackBerry 10, PlayBook OS 2.1, or earlier), it is time to replace it with a newer device. The Canadian company stated that from January 4, 2022, it would stop supporting these products.
People will no longer be able to make calls, send SMS messages and emergency calls will not work. According to the company, support for Wi-Fi or mobile data can also be unreliable. The restriction does not apply to BlackBerry smartphones with the Android operating system.
The BlackBerry brand was very popular in the late 1990s and early 21st century. According to the portal CNN The company was at its peak, especially in 2012, when it registered more than 80 million active users. However, the company began to collapse in 2013 and the launch of a new operating system or the transition to Android in 2015 did not help at that time.
After failures, the company eventually gave up and stopped producing mobile phones. The brand was subsequently licensed to other manufacturers, especially the Chinese company TCL. However, in 2020, the company also stopped producing BlackBerry devices.
Last year, however, fans eagerly awaited the BlackBerry 5G, which was to be launched by OnwardMobility. However, the company has not yet introduced any product.
