ZHANGJIAKOU / OSLO (VG) Marius Lindvik (23) took the first Norwegian individual gold in the big hill since 1964 after a super jump in the final round.

– It’s completely insane. I’m so happy now, I do not know what to say once, Lindvik says to VG, over half an hour after he jumped down to Olympic gold on the big hill.
– I have worked for this since I started with ski jumping. It has been a goal and a dream. It’s completely insane, he says.

Lindvik was in second place before the final round, but jumped past Ryoyu Kobayashi and won by 3.3 points.
– It’s completely raw. Marius’ last jump is one of the roughest I’ve seen. I’m so sick of it. It was exceptional and very deserved that he ended up with the gold then, says Halvor Egner Granerud to VG.
– To do what he does in the race here, which is one of the sickest jumping races I have seen, it is so big. It’s so huge. I have no idea what he’s made of. He is an ordinary boy who just lets it go, says national team manager Clas Brede Bråthen to VG.
National team coach Alexander Stöckl was very happy when the gold was secured.
– It was completely raw, especially the last jump to Lindvik. It was an almost perfect jump, he says to Discovery +.
– The level may never have been higher, and Lindvik distances the field, says former jumping week winner Anders Jacobsen on NRK’s radio broadcast.
– It is so beautiful to watch, says Lindvik’s teammate, Johann André Forfang in TVNorge’s Olympic studio.
– It is very deserved. He has been very strong in all jumps here. He has won both qualifications and has been solid in all the jumps on the big hill. It is a fully deserved Olympic gold and it is completely raw that he delivers. I treat him very well, says Robert Johansson, who himself became number 32.
