The team of the Hermois project for the creation of the associative café is still on the front line and faces looooong steps to start the renovation of the old post.
But the motivation is still very much alive!

It’s the story of a café … a place of conviviality for all
July 2019, start of the adventure
A small dynamic group is formed under the name of Projet Hermois with the desire to create an associative café in the former Post Office of Herm. With the support of the municipality, they begin the process. From September, they inform the Hermois during a public meeting and consult them via a questionnaire to get their opinions and ideas in order to bring this place to life. This is the opportunity for everyone to suggest names for this cafe.
October to November, success at the Citizen Participatory Budget
October, our project is selected as part of the 1st citizen participatory budget set up by the Landes Departmental Council.
In November, a single watchword: get as many people as possible to vote.
And on December 10, 2019 … We won! We will get the expected € 79,000 to carry out the renovation work on the building. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came together for the coffee!
January 2020, an operational team
That’s it: the association Le projet Hermois is officially created! We present to you our steering committee, 13 happy motivated people who will work to ensure that our Café de la Poste opens its doors as soon as possible.
