John Terry may no longer be wearing Chelsea colors, but he certainly enjoyed life, a little more than usual, when Aston Villa beat Arsenal on Saturday.

For Aston Villa’s assistant coach, not only did he want his own team to secure the three points against Arsenal, but it seemed to be his inner Chelsea who was enjoying that win against the North London team.

Chelsea supporters certainly noted Terry’s celebration, as Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game yesterday, the third in two games against the Gunners.

He arrived early in the game and from then on, Dean Smith’s team was able to prevent Arsenal’s front line from passing the ball over their former goalkeeper, Emiliano Martínez.

There were some Chelsea fans who even compared Terry’s celebration against Arsenal to the one he had against the Stamford Bridge club last season (or lack of celebration).

However, Chelsea fans weren’t the only ones who noticed Terry’s celebration because when he posted about Villa’s victory on Instagram, Watkins commented on his reaction.

The Villa forward said: ‘He celebrated it more than I did,’ while left-back Matty Targett added: ‘Haha I love it.’

It’s a real race for those European venues heading into the final months of the campaign, with Villa and Chelsea among them.

Eighth-ranked Villa is one point behind sixth-ranked Chelsea, but the London club have played one more game.

Chelsea is off to a strong start in life with their new coach, Thomas Tuchel, but he has players like Villa, Everton and West Ham in and around him ready to upset the apple cart.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Chelsea fans who reacted to Terry’s celebration yesterday:
