Resident Evil Village was the protagonist of one of the most bizarre presentations ever seen in videogame conferences, however from the strange streaming “in the dark” of the TGS 2020 we can draw some information.
For those who had not followed the story, during the Capcom panel at TGS 2020 dedicated to Resident Evil Village the game was tested live by the developers, only it was not shown to the public. In one of the most absurd and ridiculous situations seen on such occasions, during the streaming the camera framed Eiko Kano struggling with the game but not the screen, so we were only able to see Kano’s expressions and hear the developers’ directions and sound.
Although it almost seemed like a joke, Capcom justified this strange solution by saying that couldn’t show gameplay yet beyond what was shown previously with the official trailers, but from the test it was still possible to deduce some interesting elements about Resident Evil Village. In this case, these are the information that emerged for the occasion:
- L’start of the game presents a battle against a very strong enemy
- Some enemies are naked at first, despite the winter setting
- I enemies in Resident Evil 8 they behave differently than in Resident Evil 7
- Killing creatures and more can result in items
- Players can use elements of the scenario to fight and create barricades, similar to Resident Evil 4
- If you remain in a shelter for too long in “siege” situations, enemies can start setting fire to the structure
- Contextual weapons and objects can block or stun creatures and opponents
- A shotgun can be recovered during the initial stages
- The first part tested during the streaming contains a lot of action and sees Ethan flee from a village chased by numerous enemies, somewhat reminiscent of the beginning of Resident Evil 4
- There is an elementary system of crafting starting with the objects that can be collected around
