TRONDHEIM (VG) (Rosenborg-Alanyaspor 1–0) Last year, Anders Konradsen (30) scored five goals in seven qualifying matches in Europe. This time he also provided some very exciting final minutes.
– It was some bad minutes, and I became semi-religious there towards the end. I watched the second hand all the time, says Konradsen on the VG + broadcast after the match.
It took one hour before Rosenborg played their first scoring chance. But after Tore Reginiussen first tested the gloves of Alanyaspor goalkeeper Marafona with a very hard heading, it took only one minute, and one more chance before the home team took the lead after Konradsen took advantage of a large defensive loss.
The 30-year-old just managed to celebrate in front of empty stands, before he was sent off six minutes later for his second yellow card.
– It was the same man both times. It is cynical of him, slightly rusty of me and bad of judges, Konradsen sums up.
With ten against eleven players, the rest of the match was a match with its back to the wall. The away team Alanyaspor eventually threw all the men in attack, but the task seemed to lift Åge Hareide’s ten heroic men, who persevered after heroic defensive efforts.
