Some Arsenal fans on social media have expressed how impressed they are with Gabriel Martinelli’s recent comments.
The Brazilian forward spoke about his future at Arsenal and reaffirmed that his dream is to follow in the footsteps of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by taking the number 14 jersey and becoming captain of the club.
“I want to follow in Aubameyang’s footsteps, he is captain, he wears jersey number 14, he is a symbol for this club and of course I hope to be very successful at Arsenal,” Martinelli said.

The number 14 jersey at Arsenal is obviously very iconic due to the legendary attackers who have worn it in recent years, with Aubameyang, Theo Walcott and most of all Thierry Henry wearing the 14.
If Martinelli turns out to be half as good as any of those three, he will be a player.
Whether or not the Brazilian can fulfill his dream remains to be seen, but having those kinds of high goals is exactly the kind of mentality you want to see in a young play.
Arsenal fans were certainly impressed by Martinelli’s ambition, and this is what they have been saying on social media …
