Who Do You Love The Most ? : beautiful and evocative melodies, rich in harmonies, often rhythmically complex textures and a Scandinavian folk character with a touch of gospel. The 10 songs on the album are all originals by Kjetil Mulelidwith the exception of a striking rendition of The Archetypical Man by Judee Sill. Two of the originals are trio versions of tracks that appeared on Kjetil Mulelid’s solo album (“Piano”) last year.

Kjetil André Mulelid appears to be a mature pianist and composer at the age of 31. The trio’s 2017 debut album, “Not Nearly Enough To Buy A House,” received widespread international acclaim, with critics most often mentioning Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans. The accolades continued for 2019’s next, “What You Thought Was Home,” Jazz Journal giving it a 5/5 rating and calling it “one of the most captivating music I’ve heard in quite a while“. All About Jazz, for his part, noted the maturity of the work, which gives the impression of coming from three well seasoned professionals. Kjetil Mulelid obtained a BA in Jazz Performance at NTNU University in Trondheim, with top teachers such as Erling Aksdal, Vigleik Storaas and Espen Berg. He is also a member of the jazz quartet Wako.

Bjørn Marius Heggethe 33-year-old bassist, has been making waves on the Norwegian jazz scene lately, his quintet’s debut album, “Hegge“, having won a Norwegian Grammy. He also has his own trio, with pianist Oscar Grönberg and young drum ace Hans Hulbækmo (from the band Moskus). In 2019 he released “Ideas” with Axel Dörner, Rudi Mahall , Håvard Wiik and Hans Hulbækmo. Andreas Skår Winther (30) is, like the other two, a “product” of the fertile Trondheim Music Conservatory. His discography includes “Left Exit, Mr. K” with Michael Duch & Klaus Holm (on Clean Feed) and Megalodon Collective (on Gigafon), as well as his participation in the Norwegian traditional group Morgonrode, awarded with a Grammy Award.
