“Somali Woman Survives First Reported Bullet Injury to Clitoris in Mogadishu”

A woman in Somalia became the victim of a stray bullet while relaxing at her home. The bullet penetrated the ceiling of her house and hit her lower body, to be precise around her vaginal area.

The 24-year-old woman was frightened and immediately went to the Erdoğan Hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia. After a CT scan, the doctor could see that the bullet was lodged in her vaginal clitoris.

“To the best of our knowledge, this is the first bullet injury to penetrate the vulvar area (the outer part of the female genitalia) with the bullet lodged in the clitoris,” wrote the authors of the study published in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports. NYPost.

The doctor immediately examined the woman. Upon examination, the bullet slightly injured and penetrated the vaginal area.

Even so, the unnamed woman is still in good health. Because, he was hit by a bullet at a relatively low speed.

“We thought it was rare and interesting. Luckily, it (the bullet) hit him at low speed or else his health could have been compromised,” he continued.

Seeing the patient’s condition, the doctor immediately decided to perform surgery to remove the bullet from her clitoris. For starters, the doctor will give you a local anesthetic.

“Thankfully, he didn’t have any complications after undergoing lead surgery, and was discharged the next day in good condition.”
