A violent fire broke out on the night of Wednesday March 28 to Thursday March 29, around 4 a.m. The fire destroyed the Briqueterie gymnasium, located near the Vieux-Colombier college.
A spectacular fire completely destroyed the Briqueterie gymnasium in the southwest of Le Mans. An investigation has been opened, it will have to determine the origins of this one.
Until then, the town hall of Le Mans announces solutions for users via the press release, attached:
“Since this morning, the services of the City of Le Mans have been doing everything possible to relocate the associations and clubs that used to attend the gymnasium destroyed by fire.
The origin of the disaster which occurred this Thursday, March 29, around 4 a.m., has not yet been determined. This municipal sports complex located on Chemin de Montaigu, near the Collège du Vieux Colombier, was built in 1969 and included a gymnasium, a judo hall and a school field.
The facilities were used during the day by schools in the neighborhood and outside school hours by around ten clubs and associations.
The services of the City and François Edom, Deputy Mayor for Sports, have already contacted all associations and clubs and are actively working to offer associations other structures.
Also for the Collège du Vieux Colombier, a point was made with the sports teachers to use the Roger-Deléon stadium and the Briqueterie sports platform (after the safety and cleanliness of the premises).
Until the end of the year, proposals can be made for the daytime use of the Victor-Lair and Robert-Jarry gymnasiums. Contacts have been made with the university since rooms will be freed up after the Easter holidays, as the students are in the exam period.
Evening slots have been established at various venues for the following clubs:
– Monday: Brazil Franca Academy at Dojo California.
– Tuesday: ACSAC Karate at Dojo Champ Long.
– Wednesday: VO SAO LIM at the Dojo des Glonnières.
– Thursday: ACSAC Karate at Dojo Champ-Long.
– Friday: Brazil Franca Academy at Dojo California and Acasac Fitness room Gounod.
– Saturday afternoon: Brazil Franca Academy at Dojo California.
Other proposals are underway in gymnasiums:
– Monday: District gymnasium in Vauguyon.
– Tuesday: corporate basketball slot (Setram + Le Mans corporate basketball) at Les Sources gymnasium.
– Thursday: Municipal school of voluntary gymnastics: Camus gymnasium dance hall.
– Friday: Avenir Saint Pavin at the Camus gymnasium.
– Saturday: Roller Derby at the Vauguyon gymnasium.
– Sunday: Roul’Mans at the Vauguyon gymnasium.
From now on, the Childhood, Youth and Sports department will work upstream to find solutions for the next school year.”
