A new innovative technology in nitrogen fertilization was presented to more than 300 producers who gathered in the city of Río Cuarto, Córdoba. The launch was carried out by Stoller Argentina, a company specializing in biostimulants, nutritional and biological solutions that was acquired by Corteva in March 2023 to form part – together with Symborg – of the new Corteva Biologicals business unit.
This solution, which promises great benefits for the Argentine countryside, is BlueN: a nitrogen-fixing bacteria that is applied foliarly, recommended for use in early stages. It stands out for its enormous power to colonize the plant and generate efficiency in fertilization costs.
“The agricultural manufacturing sector is going through a very particular moment. Most of the planet’s productive area is already being cultivated and there is a trend towards demand for food in greater quantity and quality; in addition to this, we have the need to take care of the impact on our planet,” said Sebastián Spaccesi, commercial leader of Corteva Biologicals for Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia.
In this context, Stoller – with more than 20 years of experience – has been developing sustainable initiatives and today sees that more and more companies are adopting this approach. “The growth of the industry in the coming years will be leveraged on the biological market,” said the executive. In fact, the company stipulates that this segment will drive 50% of its growth by 2030.

A product that promises to be the beginning of a transformation
This is the dawn of a new era: an era that will present paradigmatic changes through the arrival of new solutions, which will generate a transformation in the way of producing in the field.
BlueN provides a complementary contribution to base fertilization, and in sync with the demand for nitrogen. It also renews hope for the upcoming soybean and peanut planting, since the conditions for these crops will require an efficient start due to the fact that the La Niña phenomenon continues to generate concerns.
Regarding corn crops, there is great uncertainty following the appearance of “chicharrita”, which has set off alarm bells among producers and requires them to plan the campaign with precise technological management, selecting materials suitable for early sowing, such as this technology presented by the company.
“This is a launch that has been in development and testing for more than four years in the Argentine countryside, and which has achieved extraordinary results. It is the first of many solutions that are designed for our producers,” said Spaccesi.

The secret to generating greater profitability
Another element to consider is the Soja Fuerte program, which offers the application of three products at different key and critical stages of the crop, where yield is built. In this sense, Stoller offers the possibility of starting with Stimulate in seed treatment, in the first phase of work, where the season begins to be founded.
Next, BioForge Advance is integrated in the V2-V6 stage, which helps manage abiotic stress throughout the crop cycle. And for the last step, Sett stands out, a powerful flower and pod fixative.
Meanwhile, BlueN appears as an option to enhance the results of Soja Fuerte, since it can be placed within an application window between V4 – V6 and R2-R3, to capture and fix nitrogen from the atmosphere and as a photosynthesis stimulator.
Without a doubt, in a cycle that will be challenging for Argentine agribusiness, it is essential to think about these innovative technologies because they allow them to be more efficient in the use of resources, and that increases the final profitability in each field.
“Today, after many years in which we focused mainly on financial issues, the focus of agriculture is once again on productivity and efficiency. In this context, the quality and efficiency with which production is carried out will be essential and BlueN is an ideal tool to meet this need,” concluded the commercial director of Corteva Biologicals.
