“Solskjaer reveals Manchester United missed out on Erling Haaland for minimal fee”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Erling Haaland could have gone to Manchester United for a minimal fee. The former trainer of the English club tells The Athletic that Molde FK only asked for four million euros for the goal machine.

“I called United about six months before I took over as manager and told them I had a good striker,” the manager said years later of the talent Haaland spotted in Norway. “But they wouldn’t listen. I asked for just four million for Haaland, but they didn’t sign him.” In the end, Haaland made the switch from Molde FK to Red Bull Salzburg.

In any case, Solskjaer’s period at United was not very successful. Where Erik ten Hag has more success with the team, the Norwegian couldn’t get his team to work. Now he is without a job, but he has no problems with that. “There are so many teams, but I don’t go somewhere just to get work. It has to be something special, a new culture, or a team that appeals to me.”
