The Departmental Council of National Education (CDEN) must set, Friday, the means that will be given to schools in the Gers at the start of the next school year, the concern is palpable in Mauvezin. At the center of concerns, the 2021 school map which would suggest the closure of one class out of the seven at Mauvezin elementary school. Faced with this fear of seeing a class disappear, in a few hours the mobilization was organized for a protest rally, Friday evening in front of the school. To demand the maintenance of the seven classes of the elementary school, more than 100 people, children and parents of students, parents delegates and parents members of the Association of Parents of Students (APE), met in front of the school. , surrounded by local elected officials: Alain Baque and his municipal councilors, Marceau Dorbes, Michel Fourreau, Philippe Dupouy and Hélène Rozis Lebreton departmental councilors, Jean Luc Silheres president of the community of communes Bastides de Lomagne (CCBL).

Parents and elected officials alike ask to be received by DASEN before Friday February 19 so that it takes into account the specificities of the CCBL territory.

The final decision will be made on Friday February 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the Gers prefecture.

As for the parents, they remain mobilized and are considering other actions. In the meantime, the ball is in the court of National Education. An online petition is available on my opinions.com, it has more than 500 signatures to date. Children are not numbers….
