EU countries could have an acute energy problem. This week, the European Commission announced that the EU will reduce imports of Russian gas by two thirds during the year. This is due to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
At the same time, the pace of the green transition must be increased considerably. The focus must be on energy from wind and solar and on energy saving. But the EU will need imports of both oil and gas and electricity to cope with this change.
