In mid-September, 25 seniors from Côte-d’Or stayed in Roquebrune-sur-Argens in the Var. For a week, everyday problems were put aside, health problems forgotten.

BACK TO THE SENIORS STAY IN THE VAR
The Secours populaire français offers vacation stays for seniors. Leaving allows them to come out of isolation, to make new encounters and discoveries.
From September 17 to 24, as part of its holiday campaign, Secours Populaire sent 25 seniors to the “La Gaillarde” holiday center located in Les Issambres.
Despite COVID 19, we fear last-minute defections, but all were present on the day of departure. Note however 5 defections in the week preceding the departure.
After a trouble-free trip, discovering the holiday village was a real wonder for the seniors. They were facing the Mediterranean …
Everyone was eager to get their feet in the water, but they had to wait until the next day. After learning about the barrier gestures (wearing a mask each time you travel to collective places, washing hands). It was the installation in the studios scattered around the park … But we constantly had to remember the barrier gestures. However, this did not detract from the good humor that reigned throughout the stay.
The varied program of activities allowed everyone to organize their time. Some outings were set: Port Grimaud, Saint-Tropez, Nice, Grasse and wine estate. The rest of the time everyone took care of themselves according to their desires, walks by the sea, idleness, in the center, gymnastics with animator, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi. Strong participation in the “aperitif games” at noon and in the evening, it was always a moment of sharing and fun. The boat crossing from Sainte-Maxime to Saint-Tropez will remain for some an unforgettable memory because the sea was somewhat rough.
For a week, everyday problems were put aside, health problems forgotten. For all of them these were moments when they could breathe by letting themselves be carried by the group. And if some have already traveled in better times, they were always very happy with what they discovered or rediscovered. Everyone would like to thank Secours Populaire for this stay.
