The Salsa singer Iván Cano has set himself a solidarity challenge that consists of spending a whole day singing and speaking through social networks. The members of Civil Protection are being in charge of receiving the merchandise that arrives at the Espacio Joven de Salas. Donations are coming from the council of Salas, but also from Corvera, Oviedo, Pravia or Langreo. “We didn’t think it was going to be so successful. We are amazed at the amount of food we are receiving. Throughout the week, people have been giving me things. It has far exceeded expectations », Cano highlights.
Cano has been accompanied by other Asturian musicians and singers. Among them, the Band of Bagpipes of Villa de Salas, Xuan de Las Tabiernas, María Somiedo, José Antonio Rey and the Duo Samba. The Councilor for Culture of the City Council of Salas, Ana Feito, has been impressed by what they have managed to raise this Saturday. All donations will be distributed by municipal social services.
