Solidarity: cut hair in exchange for warm clothes to donate

The desire to help was what prompted Marina Tapia, 37 years old and owner of a beauty salon in Villa de Merlo, to launch a solidarity campaign, which consists of exchanging free haircuts for winter clothes for children that is in good condition. Those who want to join can go to Los Tilos 111 and take a turn.

It is not the first time that he collaborates with those who need the most. Previous years he collected non-perishable foods and took them to different dining rooms. Also when classes began, he offered to fix the children’s hair for the return to class. “Many cannot pay and I give them a hand with what I know how to do. Sometimes I go to the neighborhoods or if not they come to the premises, “said Marina, who stressed that it occurred to her to make this move because the cold days are approaching and the pandemic affected many families economically.

“The other day I went to buy clothes for my son and I was surprised by how expensive everything is. It was there when I thought I had to do something, because the situation is complicated, “said the stylist. She also stated that the people of Merlo are very supportive and always accompany her, so much so that she extended the campaign until next week, since many people contacted her to collaborate.

“As soon as I published it on social networks, they began to write to me. Some don’t need the cut, but they told me they’re bringing the clothes anyway. Entire families have already come to the hairdresser ”, explained Marina, who stressed that the clothing must be in good condition and clean.

Neighbors from other towns such as Santa Rosa del Conlara, Carpintería, Los Molles and Cortaderas also joined and want to participate. “As it is not easy to get there, I spent the shifts for next week. The idea is that everyone can join. In addition, I have to attend to the rest of the clients ”, he highlighted.

What he manages to collect will take him to different families, dining rooms and even to a solidarity wardrobe at the “Madre Catalina Rodríguez” Hospital.

Those who want to take a turn to cut their hair and join this solidarity movement should go to the premises located at Los Tilos 111 or they can call 2664636237.

The stylist stressed that good actions are imitated and recalled that in her adolescence her family also promoted solidarity. “When I was little my parents took things to churches, I dressed up for Children’s Day and we helped with what we could. We carry it in our blood and that is what I want to teach my 12-year-old son Máximo ”, he emphasized.

On what motivates her to carry out these campaigns, Marina said that she does not want any boy to go through need. “I see the effort we make with Máximo’s father so that he does not lack anything and it breaks my heart that others feel cold. I think that together we can help and we always have something to donate, “he said.

Those who want to collaborate can communicate through the Instagram @marinatapia_salondebelleza or by phone 2664636237. There they can coordinate the shift for the haircut and the delivery of the clothes.
