An event entitled “Against the silence. Against Anti-Semitism” takes place on Monday evening in the Great House of the Berliner Ensemble.
The solidarity concert was initiated by pianist Igor Levit. According to him, he wants to use the campaign to counteract the silence that he perceived in large parts of the German cultural landscape after the Hamas terrorist attack and the resulting hatred of Jews and anti-Semitism.
Contributors include Margot Friedländer, Wolf Biermann, “Die Toten Hosen”, Michel Friedman, Dunja Hayali, Malakoff Kowalski, Cosima Soulez Larivière, Joana Mallwitz, Simon Bode, Jens Harzer, Tim Mälzer, Luisa Neubauer, Ulrich Noethen, Sven Regener, Alexander Scheer, Maria Schrader, Katharina Thalbach, Christian Thielemann, Jörg Widmann and Paul Zichner.
The concert will be broadcast live from 8 p.m. on rbb|24, in the ARD media library and on radioeins.de. On November 28th, rbb television will also broadcast a recording of the concert evening from 11 p.m. and rbbKultur will broadcast on the radio from 8:03 p.m
