Mandingo dance workshop [Mali, Guinée] + Afro Ball + Solidarity Canteen on Equality Island!

It’s the start of the afro ball + shared meal at Equality Island! Meet with the Eyaé association, the Idir Espoir & Solidarité association at 7 p.m. (note new formula ).

An evening to first discover, share and get together around popular repertoires of dances and rhythms from Mali, Guinea, and a shared meal.
No need to know or have already done dance, but simply to want to discover the musical and dance richness of these repertoires, and to share in a collective and festive way.

New formula:
7 p.m.-8:30 p.m.: Mali dance classes. In-depth work on the repertoire. All levels.

Transmission of repertoire, learning of dance rhythms and codes. Hosted by Mathilde and Hawoyel M’Bodji who visits us exceptionally (!), Seb, Agathe, Mono and surprise guests (percussion) to discover or deepen the repertoires of Malian dances and rhythms.

20h30-21h30 : Initiation et Bal Afro
You don’t have time to come to the 7 p.m. class? Do you want to come and put your feet up and have fun in the circle? Come at 8:30 p.m. for a little introduction to Mandingo dances, and we’ll quickly put it all into practice and flow into the ball! The circle is open to anyone who wants to come and practice Mandé dances and percussion, to simply sit and watch, to celebrate together!
Jam: Bring your drums back if possible (don’t hesitate to write to us before for more information)
Outfit: A comfortable outfit for dancing, barefoot, socks or shoes as you wish. A bottle of water, we’ll sweat and we won’t be cold, it’s tested and guaranteed! And for the prom, if you want, you can also bring back an outfit that you like, a fabric, or any little detail that makes you feel beautiful or handsome.

9:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.: Meals from the Idir Espoir & Solidarité Solidarity Canteen.
A delicious meal to share together, in solidarity, in support of prisoners and their loved ones.
