Tickets for Kaliakra Rock Fest 2009 go on sale tomorrow, March 27th.
This information came with the news that in addition to the already announced participants – Motley Crue and Dream Theater, Scorpions, Anthrax, Blind Guardian, Neal Morse and Lauren Harris will also be hitting the fest.
The tickets will be priced at BGN 100 and will be valid for all three days (1-3 July), and the places where they will be sold are: at the Ticket Center of the NDK, the Ticketstream.bg and Eventim.bg networks, and due to the traditional already interest from fans from neighboring Romania, Serbia and Macedonia, this year tickets will be sold on their territory as well (to and for Romania and for Serbia and Macedonia). Kalikra Rock Fest 2009 will be opened on July 1st by American glam rock band Motley Crue. They arrive for the first time in Bulgaria and in an original composition. In tune with their eccentricity will be their support in the person of the sexy Lauren Harris (daughter of Steve Harris from Iron Maiden). On the 2nd of July we will be welcoming rock legends Scorpions, along with quite respectable support from Anthrax themselves. The New York heavy metal band is one of the “big four” in 1980s metal along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. The Americans will score first on July 2 and for the first time in front of their thousands of fans in Bulgaria. After them and before Scorpions we will also see Blind Guardian – a heavy metal guest from Germany and also with quite a serious audience. The final third day of the festival (July 3rd) will be no less powerful musically and emotionally. The progressive metal band Dream Theater is in the spotlight. After their historic concert in Sofia on the same date seven years ago, the group with the most loyal fans in the world, will sign on stage in an original line-up. The latest 10th studio album of the progressive metallers from New York – Black Clouds & Silver Linings, is expected on the market in June, when their European tour also starts, with a date of July 3rd in Kavarna. The idols will be supported by Neal Morse, the new group of the same-named longtime frontman of Spock’s Beard – one of the main revivalists of classic progressive rock from the 70s. And this year, according to tradition, the mayor of Kavarna, Tsonko Tsonev, will delight one of the guests of the Kaliakra Rock Fest with the most rocker award possible – a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The lucky person will have to meet the only condition – to be a holder of a three-day ticket for Kaliakra Rock Fest 2009! It will be drawn after the fest is over.
