entrance song
Come living Spirit of God
renew your children
Come Holy Spirit, burn us with your fire
In our hearts spread your gifts
On our lips, inspire a song
Come Holy Spirit, come transform our lives
Spirit of Light, Spirit of Creation
Restore in us joy, fire, hope
Strengthen our souls, revive our hearts
To bear witness to your immense love
Strengthen our wounded bodies
Wash us from all sin
Come, Holy Spirit
Make us seek peace
Desire holiness
Come, Holy Spirit come transform our lives
Spirit of Light, Spirit of Creation
Restore in us joy, fire, hope
Strengthen our souls, revive our hearts
To bear witness to your immense love
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest,
and peace on earth to the men he loves.
Glory to God in the highest,
and peace on earth to the men he loves.
We praise you, we bless you, we adore you,
we glorify you, we give you thanks,
for your immense glory.
Lord God, King of heaven, God the Father Almighty.
Lord, only begotten Son, Jesus Christ,
Lord God, Lamb of God, the Son of the Father;
You who take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
You who take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer,
You who are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.
For You alone are holy, You alone are Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit in the glory of God the Father.
Amen. Amen
Amen. Amen
First reading (Ac 2, 1-11)
When Pentecost day came round, they had all met in one room,
when suddenly they heard what sounded like a powerful wind from heaven, the noise of which filled the entire house in which they were sitting ;
and something appeared to them that seemed like tongues of fire ;
these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them.
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit,
and began to speak foreign languages as the Spirit gave them the gift of speech.
Now there were devout men living in Jerusalem from every nation under heaven,
And at this sound they all assembled, each one bewildered to hear these men speaking his own language
They were amazed and astonished. “Surely they said all these men speaking are Galileans ?
How does it happen that each of us hears them in his own native language ?
Parthians, Medes and Elamites ; people from Mesopotamia, Jedea
and Cappadocia,
Pontus and Asia,
Phrygia and Pamphylia,
Egypt and the parts of Libya round Cyrene ;
As well as visitors from Rome
Jews and proselytes alike
Cretans and Arabs,
We hear them preaching in our own language
About the marvels of God.
Reading from the Acts of the Apostles
When the day of Pentecost came,
at the end of the fifty days after Easter,
they were all gathered together.
Suddenly a noise came from the sky
like a violent gust of wind:
the whole house where they were sitting was filled with them.
Then appeared to them tongues that one would have said of fire,
who shared,
and one landed on each of them.
All were filled with the Holy Spirit:
they began to speak in other tongues,
and each spoke according to the gift of the Spirit.
Now there was, residing in Jerusalem,
religious Jews,
from all nations under heaven.
When they heard the resounding voice,
they gathered in crowds.
They were confused
because each of them heard in his own dialect
those who spoke.
In amazement and wonder, they said:
“These people who talk
are they not all Galileans?
How come each of us hears them
in his own dialect, his mother tongue?
Parthians, Medes and Elamites,
inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia,
of the province of Pontus and that of Asia,
of Phrygia and Pamphylia,
of Egypt and the lands of Libya near Cyrene,
passing Romans,
Jews by birth and converts,
Cretans and Arabs,
we all hear them
speak in our languages of the wonders of God. »

Psalm 103
O Lord, send your Spirit
who renews the face of the earth!
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
Lord my God, you are so great!
What profusion in your works, Lord!
the earth is filled with your goods.
You catch their breath, they expire
and return to their dust.
You send your breath: they are created;
you renew the face of the earth.
Glory to the Lord forever!
May God rejoice in his works!
May my poem please him;
I rejoice in the Lord.
O Lord, send your Spirit
who renews the face of the earth!
Second reading (Rom 8, 8-17)
Reading of the Letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Romans
Brothers,
those who are under the influence of the flesh
cannot please God.
But you, you are not under the influence of the flesh,
but under that of the Spirit,
since the Spirit of God dwells in you.
He who does not have the Spirit of Christ
does not belong to him.
But if Christ is in you,
the body, it is true, remains marked by death
because of sin,
but the Spirit makes you live,
since you have become righteous.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead
dwells in you,
the one who raised Jesus, the Christ, from the dead
will also give life to your mortal bodies
by his Spirit who dwells in you.
So then, brethren, we have a debt,
but it is not towards the flesh
to have to live according to the flesh.
For if you live according to the flesh,
you are going to die;
but if, by the Spirit,
you kill the doings of sinful man,
you will live.
Indeed, all who allow themselves to be led by the Spirit of God,
these are sons of God.
You haven’t received a spirit that makes you slaves
and brings you back to fear;
but you have received a Spirit which makes you sons;
and it is in him that we cry
“Abba! that is to say: Father!
It is therefore the Holy Spirit himself who attests to our spirit
that we are children of God.
Since we are his children,
we are also his heirs:
heirs of God,
heirs with Christ,
if at least we suffer with him
to be with him in glory.

gospel
The Lord be with you.
And with your mind.
Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John
Glory to you Lord.
During that time,
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If you love me,
you will keep my commandments.
I will pray to the Father,
and he will give you another Defender
who will be with you forever.
If someone loves me
he will keep my word;
my Father will love him,
we will come to him
and with him we will make a home.
The one who doesn’t love me
do not keep my words.
Now, the words you hear are not mine:
it is from the Father, who sent me.
I speak to you like this,
as long as I remain with you;
but the Defender,
the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name,
he will teach you everything,
and it will remind you of all that I have told you. »
Let’s acclaim the Word of God.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus!
universal prayer
So that all men and women can lead a dignified and fraternal life on earth, let us raise our prayers to the Lord.
Lord, send your Spirit of light on the members of your Church.
May he give all the baptized the strength and joy to proclaim the goodness and love of the Father.
Breath of life, strength of God, come Spirit of holiness
Lord, send your Spirit of justice and peace upon our world.
May he inspire those in charge of nations to make decisions that are fair and respectful of the rights of the weakest.
Breath of life, strength of God, come Spirit of holiness
Lord, send your Spirit of consolation to all who suffer.
May he bring tenderness and mercy to the sick, to the excluded and to the victims of all wars.
Breath of life, strength of God, come Spirit of holiness
Lord, send your Spirit of charity to all our communities,
So that it helps us to unite all our wills and so we can witness the love of Christ in the service to the brothers.
Lord, send your Spirit of charity to all our Christian communities.
May he help us to unite our wills so that we can bear witness to the love of Christ by serving our brothers.
Breath of life, strength of God, come Spirit of holiness
Hear, Lord, the prayers
That you yourself inspire in your Church
And, in your goodness, deign to grant them.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Holy ! Holy ! Holy, Lord, God of the universe!
Heaven and earth are filled with your glory.
Hosanna in the highest heaven.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

communion song
I come to you with open hands
With my hunger to offer you my life
You come to me with outstretched hands
With this bread offer me your life
You kept listening
Throughout the days, through the nights
food for the road
You can offer it, you promised it
I come to you with open hands
With my hunger to offer you my life
You come to me with outstretched hands
With this bread offer me your life
You looked for me in my absences
In my refusals, in my oversights
You spoke to me in silence
You were there as a friend
I come to you with open hands
With my hunger to offer you my life
You come to me with outstretched hands
With this bread offer me your life
Chant final
To let you live in this breath of Pentecost, I invite you this week to remember the path by which the Gospel has reached you, in your streets, in your workplaces, in your neighborhoods, in your families: Remember the people through whom you have received the Gospel and do not be afraid of the breath that has taken your turn. Many will hear the good news of salvation through you. Through his Spirit poured out in our hearts, the Lord is with us every day until the end of time.
