Great backdrop for the duel between SSV Ulm and TSV 1860 Munich next Tuesday evening (October 3rd, 7:00 p.m.): 17,000 spectators will be there in the Donaustadion, meaning the game is completely sold out.
Biggest backdrop since 2018
For the promoted team, it is the biggest crowd since October 2018, when 17,000 fans also streamed into the stadium for the DFB Cup game against Fortuna Düsseldorf. More spectators only came in the 1999/00 Bundesliga season, although the Donaustadion still had a capacity of 23,000 spectators at that time due to the additional stands. The Spatzen were able to sell all their tickets three times at the time; the last game against 1860 Munich in February 2000 was watched by 22,793 spectators.
The average number of visitors so far this season is 8,887. This puts the SSV in tenth place in the league comparison – ahead of clubs like SSV Jahn Regensburg and Halleschen FC. Due to the sold-out game next Tuesday, the average number of fans will rise to 10,500, meaning the Sparrows will gain two more places in the spectator table. If the average is over 7,300 at the end of the season, it would be the highest figure since the aforementioned Bundesliga season, when an average of 22,388 fans came. Theoretically, there would currently be room for 19,500 fans in the stadium, but the capacity cannot be fully utilized for security reasons.
Fan march before the game
Before the game against 1860, Ulm fans want to meet at 4 p.m. in front of the town hall in the old town and from there walk together to the stadium. Spicy: The 1860 fans are also calling for a fan march and want to meet at the University Cathedral, which is in the immediate vicinity of the town hall. The police are likely to be on site with a large contingent to prevent both groups from meeting. At least 2,000 fans will travel from Munich, that’s how many tickets were available for the guest block. But there may be a few more sixty followers.
