– Do you want the whole eleven or where should I start? joked Glimt coach Kjetil Knutsen and smiled broadly when VG inquired about Solbakken’s state.
– We can at least confirm that he will be in the squad tomorrow, Knutsen said at a press conference on Wednesday the day before the match against Swiss FC Zürich.
It has been more than two months since he was twisted with pain in his 4-1 win over Sarpsborg 08 in Aspmyra.
Solbakken dislocated his shoulder e he was sent to hospital after suffering the same injury last year.
– The same thing happened last year, at exactly the same time. Then he was out for five weeks. It’s sad for him and the team, coach Kjetil Knutsen told Discovery after the game.
The injury meant that Solbakken has not yet been in action in Europe this season.
On Wednesday, however, he trained once again with full contact and therefore by all accounts he is very important for playing time in Thursday’s Europa League home game with Swiss FC Zürich.
There are also Amahl Pellegrino and Brede Moe, confirms Knutsen.
Last season, Ola Solbakken scored six goals and recorded two assists in the Conference League.
Three goals in group stage matches against Roma meant that he was tied to both the Italian capital team and the Napoli competitor.
Solbakken confirmed to the VG that Roma were among the clubs concerned, while his agent Bjørn Tore Kvarme denied that the outside signed with anyone.
The winger’s contract with Bodø / Glimt expires after the season, which means he is free to negotiate with new clubs with less than a six-month contract.
