Solar sources are running. In the first half of the year, the performance increased as in the previous year

The association noted that interest in new installations is growing despite the coronavirus crisis. According to him, these are mainly roof installations to cover their own consumption, for which people use available subsidy titles.

“This year we expect further growth of the photovoltaic market, to about 50 to 55 MW of new photovoltaic power plants. We believe that in 2021 and 2022 the market can reach over 100 MW of new photovoltaic installations per year, but more should be done,” he said. Chairman of CAFT Aleš Hradecký.

The installed capacity of solar power plants in the Czech Republic has been growing slightly in recent years, but the annual increments are negligible compared to the so-called solar boom. According to data from the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), at the end of the first half of the year, about 2,051 MW of sources that produce energy from the sun were installed in the Czech Republic. According to the ERO, the total installed capacity of power plants in the Czech Republic is 9.4 percent. During the solar boom, the installed volume of solar power plants in the Czech Republic more than quadrupled per year, from 465 MW at the end of 2009 to 1959 MW in 2010.

The Chamber of Renewable Energy Sources pointed out that, for example, last year’s increase of 25 MW was about ten times lower than in Austria, many times more photovoltaic power plants are also installed on the roofs in Hungary and Poland. The medium, cautious scenario of the analysis of the potential prepared by the chamber shows that the Czech market corresponds to an annual increase about twenty times larger than last year, ie 400 to 500 MW per year.

“The Czechia can very easily pay for the development of renewable sources, which can replace electricity from ending coal-fired power plants, with money from several European programs. and Resilience Facility), “said Chamber President Stepan Chalupa.

The so-called green energy sources in the Czech Republic receive tens of billions of crowns a year. The total costs in recent years amount to over 40 billion crowns every year, last year they were paid 45.4 billion crowns. Solar power plants received about 29 billion crowns. Controversy over support is still aroused by the so-called solar boom. The payment of support for solar power plants has long been criticized by President Miloš Zeman.

CAFT is an association of entrepreneurs that brings together companies in the Czech Republic that install more than 90 percent of photovoltaic power plants. These are mainly assembly and trading companies. The association represents the photovoltaic sector in the Chamber of Renewable Energy Sources.

The police have already frozen CEZ Group over a billion crowns due to the Vranovská Ves solar power plant
