Cologne/Essen (energate) – RWE has been awarded the contract for a solar project in the Hambach open-cast lignite mine by the Federal Network Agency as part of an innovation tender. “RWE will soon be building a photovoltaic system with battery storage in the future shore area of the planned Hambacher opencast lake. There will be many years before the lake has reached its final filling level to use the site temporarily for a large solar park,” RWE announced. …
